The Gen1 Zoo Trip

          On April 9, 2011 the Gen1 Program ventured out on a trip to the Smithsonian National Zoo located in Washington DC. Even with it being a brisk April day, the group still managed to have an excellent time at the zoo. Though many of the Gen1 students had visited a Zoo as a child, they reported that they were surprised at how awestruck they were as adults over the wonderment they experienced while observing the animals. The zoo gave the Gen1 students the opportunity to witness a veritable pantheon of animals from around the globe that they otherwise would not have the opportunity to witness firsthand.
