On February 21, 2012, members of the Gen1 program attended an ice cream social, the first workshop of the semester, “Starting on My AGENda: It’s Never too Early to Think about My Exit Strategy.” Jamie Cardillo from Financial Aid, Tracey Cantabene from Career Services, and Cassandra Jones from the Office of Academic Support Services spoke to the Gen1 students about information pertinent to sophomores in preparation for the end of the undergraduate experience and what to expect immediately thereafter. The speakers answered questions such as: When do I have to repay my school loans? Do I need to go to graduate school? What does it mean to brand myself? What does it mean to network? An enjoyable evening for all, the students mingled with the speakers, won prizes, and left feeling better prepared by having had many of their questions answered.
