Two of the most important things for college students to maintain are excellent physical and mental health. Many college students commonly find themselves staying up to all hours of the night finishing assignments, or in some cases, starting assignments. Without a healthy dose of sleeping, eating, studying, and free time, students are putting themselves at risk of hindering the physical and mental health that will keep their bodies going day in and day out.
The Gen1 program recently took part in a wellness seminar/ice cream social. Stevenson’s Professional Counselor L.C.P.C, Sarah Evans, gave a presentation to the Gen1 students on the importance of keeping themselves healthy, both mentally and physically. As first generation college students, many may not know how to handle the pressures of college and still maintain a healthy lifestyle; this presentation's goal was to lead them in the right direction.
The Gen1 students also enjoyed a full ice cream sundae bar while they listened to Mrs. Evans' presentation.
